2.A Creating an Environment of Respect and Rapport
One of my most important self goals is to create a classroom where everyone is treated the same and we are comfortable to learn with each other. I work on this by having students work with new partners and unfamiliar friends on certain group or partner activities. This creates a better class environment when students work together and learn how to get along with everyone in the classroom. I have created a group "A" and a group "B" that students work in a partnership when told. I have two different groups, one group is based on ability and one group is based on personality. I would like to do this more as the year goes along and have students work with not only their friends but other peers in the class as well. I always want my students to treat others as they would like to be treated.
2.D Managing Student Behavior
Through my student teaching experience I have learned many ways to manage student behavior. In student teaching I have used behavior books where I record good and bad behaviors. In my classroom we used a reward system called Flivver Dollars. The students are rewarded for good behaviors and the Flivver dollars can be taken away for unwanted behaviors.
As a whole school, Woodland uses a bucket filler system. To fill someones bucket means to compliment or do something nice. Often times students are given bucket slips for helping a teacher, being nice to a friend, or having terrific behavior in the lunchroom/hallways.

2.E Organizing Physical Space
Creating organized physical space is something I am always working on. I want to create a classroom environment that has flexible seating for students if needed, along with space for physical movement and activity. Seating in a classroom can make or break performance. When creating a seating arrangement I base a student's placement off of ability, personality, and work ethic. I believe in arranging students so that they feel comfortable and can perform at their highest possible level. I have tried several different types of seating arrangements in my classroom while student teaching.
